It was mentioned above that one brand showed a leaner WOT A/F ratio than another. Not a big deal. The WOT ratio displayed in not what is important. WOT A/F should only be set by the engine's response. Such as best MPH at the track or through dyno sessions and with plug readings. There is no universal A/F ratio that all engines make the best HP at. Just a range. So a wide band can not tell you if you have the optimum WOT ratio, but it can tell you if you have the WOT fuel curve right. Which again would be very difficult or impossible to see without a graphed log.


Very true... a lot of people think there is some magic number
on the A/F and there isnt... like you said.. every engine is
different.. the A/F readings are great if you make changes and
need to get back to the A/F ratio... when I tune WOT.. I set
for the best MPH THEN take a reading so I have a reference point
and I dont set idle with it either.. get it to idle the leanest
but the best you can get it to idle
