If it has flashers then it has the grounds.
Like stated before check the fuse and brake light switch. Could be the EM flasher switch. That switch interrupts the brake light circuit and transfers the brake lights to the EM flash circuit. Those switches do wear out. I just changed one on a 71 Charger a couple months ago and fixing to change one on a 67 Chevelle. Have changed several over the years.
