They provide peace of mind, they keep at least a quart trapped at all times. Doubt clearance from headers would be an issue at all. I run a Road Race pan AND an accumulator on my current rendition. Car has REALLY good brakes and REALLY sticky back tires, it corners ok too, at least it used too.....
