I just know Chrysler, can't speak for GM or Ford.

Even the race units with bolt in sprags or the later RWD OD units (which also have a bolt in sprag) it would be a bad idea to shock the drivetrain in first gear. Just a roller and spring arrangement that does not take kindly to the abuse.
