Yes, I have headers and an X pipe, plus the shifter opening in the floor. The matting helped quiet it down, and was a very good heat barrier. I bought a roll of FatMat on e-Bay for about $100 or so shipped. I covered my entire firewall, floor pan all the way back to the shock mounts (I have a fastback), the rear wheel housings, and the roof. I also added strips inside my doors. Car used to be an oven, now it's actually nice with the fresh-air vents open.
