The newer trucks used a electronic unit, it will be mounted on the pc board. I'll bet you can find everything you need at a salvage yard. Pick up a spare Instrument panel if you can and experiment away.
I do have an extra Instrument panel. Any ideas as to what gage to look for (and 5 volt limiter)? Out of what year trucks (would help me to narrow down the search)? Thanks, M
