I really had some fun and it was great to be back at the drag strip after a year and half.

The new KB block engine works great. After a couple easy passes and a fuel ratio adjustment I laid down two 9.02 passes. The sixty foot times were 1.27-1.28 (2.28 first gear and 4.10 gears).
The driver (me) was rusty so my RTs were slow and I goofed on one pass and pulled the shifter into 2nd gear when I launched the car. But the car handeled great and I made some big wheel stands, so I have to adjust the chassis a little to reduce that. I did restrict front end travel and lowered the wheelie bars 3/8" for the last pass and it was the best run of the day, 9.022 at 147 mph.

Nice runs Jim! Your new ET is much faster then the old 9.40,s or so, but are your 60 fts. softer? I remember some killer 1.24,s/1.25s or so I think with the old combo.

Did you ever figure out what went on the old engine? Your builds are always so meticulous, but even the best of builds can fail for some reason or another.
