Hey guys imn looking to replace the 727 trans in my 66 coronet. The one in it has issues on top of the fact it has done nothing but leak for the 232 years ive had it. Had it rebuilt a few times over the years and had it looked at numerous times for the leaking. nobody can seem to figure it out and im sick of it. Dont know if the case is cracked or what but im done. I want to buy a brand new trans for it. i want a reverse manual valve body because i do race it. What or who do you guys recomend? Tired of dealing with old used junk. Anyone?..Thanks.Joe

I was in your exact same place, my 727 was rebuilt by everyone in my neighborhood including me.

I'd get one from someplace close to your home. Don't konw what part of Ill you live in, I'd recommend Coan Trans In Kokomo, Ind.

I have done quit a bit of business with them. Bought powerglide parts from them for years and 2 727s. I also raced with Jason Coan and his Dad.

I have had like 3 727s rebuild by neighborhood shops and non of them ever performed like my 2 Coan 727s from Coan. And it's been 7 years now on one trans. It shifts just as firm today as the day it was new, quite a bargain, imo. The matching convertors help a ton.

I drove up there and dropped off my core and picked up a fresh 727 and matching convertor for my motor. It really made a difference in both my cars. Matching convertors and the trans shifts great with a bark. Craig gave me a pretty complete tour of the shop and everyone was really nice. There stuff works.

Price was reasonable too at 650 bucks 7 years ago for the trans with a core. I forget what the torque convertor cost, but get them to make you one, so worth it. The trans in my 340 car is even older than 7 years, more like 10-11 years and I drive it the most. Think I paid 600 10 years ago for my first one that is still kicking azz tonight.

Has been a awesome transmission.
