An old Chrysler mechanic gave me a tip over 20 years ago for removing torsion bars. Get a big bolt....a BIG bolt. Just small enough to fit through the rear of the t-bar mount under the floor.

Put the bolt against the t-bar and give it a few sturdy hits. Yiu are "driving" it towards the front of the car. This somehow releases the t-bar and you can remove it easily without tools. Worked for me many times..
