There is a better easier way to tell early vintage from later vintage. If you look at the pic you posted of your later manifold you will see it has the revised casting where the manifold ports meet the head (they are more smoothed) This was started in 1969. Allen's pic of his RH manifold has the "step" at the ports where the manifold meets the head.




That's another detail that I have noticed as well but I don't think you can see that from the top looking down into the engine compartment... There are a couple of "restored" 70-1 hemi cars that don't have the correct manifolds.
