Here's an idea, rotate the carb 180 degrees for testing purposes. If the dead cylinders start working and the live ones quit then you know it's your carb.

Years ago, I was working on my girlfriend's mom's Olds, seems the entire passenger's side of that 455 was dead. Pulled the plugs and the pass side ones were totally carboned up, I mean hooded over bad.

Replaced the intake gasket, new plugs and it ran great.
