If nothing else, maybe try "hot wiring" the regulator to the alternator (by passing the new wiring if it is causing the issues) and see if it works properly ?

Pretty simple to hook up a electronic regulator setup..





If it's this type of regulator it works buy providing more ground to the one field 69 should be different!
