mine has the cable un-hooked at the shifter with a pair of vise grips on the end of the cable.

I feel for the detents by hand and can do a fair job of shifting it..but I cant shift and fly the way I want too do to a junk shifter.

I remember the little ferd rustang II shifter I used in a doge one time..it sure worked better than what i got going right now,even with it shifting backwards.
