We have an aluminum hot tank and an iron hot tank, different chemicals in them, so we hot tank them, bead blast them, Blow them off inside and out and the bolt holes, re hot tank them to get any missed sand, rinse them with water, blow dry and send them out to the customer.
Never had any issues and they look like new again.
If there is a heat crossover plate underneath we take that off so it is clean and then reinstall it when done.(gm and fords mostly)
