As for the AMC lifters, apparently the oil hole is wrongly situated for Mopar use and will bleed off too much pressure because its fully exposed to the oil galley.
.The "Skirt" or the cutout around the wheel is the problem on AMC's losing oil Pressure..at full lift like you say...
