I disagree, I turn the memory pointer against the main pointer when I get beyond the breakaway-torque.

And also, the memory pointer is independent of its own knob, which means the memory pointer "slips" once it makes contact with the main pointer of the torque wrench.

You can turn and turn the memory pointer's knob pushing the memory pointer against the main pointer, and the main pointer won't budge.

The tension on the memory pointer is very light and it can be turned against the main pointer at any time in the wrench's cycle.
