Why? You can mask the areas that don't get powder, they have tape for powder coating that lives in the oven... The powder is attracted by an electrical charge so when fogged it will find any exposed metal... And personally before powder coating I would mask the polished areas one with masking tape then a second time with duct tape & run then through my blast cabinet... A little etching of the surfaces that are to be powder coated should help...
