on my 1972 Cuda 340 - the vin plate is coded BS23G4xxxxx, while it should be BS23H4xxxxx vin says it's a 318 while i have the original 340 in it, build sheet also denotes BS23G but all the specs point to the 340 and the vin numbers agree on the block
