Car runs 9.60's and I want to get it above 10.00's.....buddy of mine has a similar et, and he disconnected the secondaries on the carb, dropped him into the 10.20's. that is what I would like to do. So, my question is will that make the car run lean??

I slowed my car with a mech throttle stop... it goes
about 1/3 throttle then I adjust the launch rpm and
the shift point... you would need to take way too
much timing out so I wouldnt even look at that...
with the mech stop it opens both blades some so
you get equal distribution

...............When you say a mechanical throttle stop, you mean that you are just blocking the throttle linkage from opening up more than a third of the way?........and i would not need to adjust the timing?

Correct.... I put a short pretty stiff spring on the
throttle cable to the carb also... if you have the
type of cable that is adjustable you can slide it
forward so you dont break the cable(mine isnt adjustable)
and no I dont touch the timing.... I was doing this
so I could run multiple classes with a quick and
easy way to change over..... this is the throttle
stop I made to fit my dom
