Maybe this will tell you something: Back a few years ago I was in the process of ordering a new Airgap form a prominent engine builder on the east coast. He asked me what I was running at the time and I was told to save my money, that andy improvement (if any) would be minor and not a cost efficient thing. Not satisfied I called edlebrock tech and the technician I got was familiar with the old school LD340 and he told me the same thing. IMO it speaks well for old school technology.

Wow! I was going to go with the M-1. But now, I might just use the LD340. I kind of like the look better on the LD too. Besides it's all blasted and ready for paint. I guess it would be cool to open the hood and see an LD340 under there. Don't see to many of them now-a-days. Ok, I'm going LD!

I run a LD4B(318 small port) and the LD340, I wont get rid of mine anytime soon.

I tried the airgap but went back to the LD340,I gained nothing with the airgap. did not lose anything but saved $ as I borrowed the airgap for a T&T run down. glad Don gave me that same advice when I was looking to buy an airgap

when I was growing up the LD340 is all I ever heard about on the SB 340, even hear it still today.
