Chris, I think that would work just fine, but I'd let a real Holley expert make that call for you. They have a tech line you can use to for advice. The thing with our original Holley's were they were a bit different than the square bore you have picked there. They had much larger secondaries which bumped their CFM up to around 750cfm.

Is the one your currently running have the larger opening in the secondaries in your throttle plate? That could be part of the problem. Other problems were people liked to drill out some passages for more flow. Wrong gasket kits, and those metering blocks loved to warp causing all sorts of issues. All good reasons to move to a new one if what you have is beyond repair.
