Hi Steven

It sounds like the cobras went through a "multi step" paint process during assembly and shipping. During the SEMA show this year Ford displayed Carroll Shelbys unrestored Cobra #1 that started the company. Dave and I were fortunate enough to be in the Ford Display when they brought the car in and had the opportunity to walkaround it before they set up the ropes. It shows wear and use that you would expect from a development car and Carroll has kept the car all these years. I'll post some pictures next week of this iconic vehicle. I'm told the car is not for sale and offers with lots of 000's have been turned down.

Tom....funny you mention csx2000 and paint. if memory serves me right that car was on the cover of many magazines that first year. on each cover it was a different color. $helby wanted to make it look like he had many finished cars so they kept repainting that one over and over again...Steven
