There definitely was an exhaust leak on both pass and driver's sides. I was foolish enough to install the cheesy paper gaskets supplied with the headers. I've since (yesterday) installed better quality gaskets and some of the ticking noise has definitely gone away. But there still sounds like some in the top end of the engine.
