I have a A-833 4 speed in my Cuda. Here is the problem(s) I have been having.
1. Shifts into Reverse really hard
2. Grinds shifting into 3rd & 4th under acceleration.
3. Pops out of 2nd under deceleration.

Most of these problems started after the 3rd-4th shifter fork pin broke off. I bought a new one and installed in the car.

Question is could these problems be related to the shifter fork being bent when the tranny was rebuilt and since there is a new fork in now it needs adjusted or does the entire tranny need rebuilt again?

thanks

1.If it is hard to get in reverse, then the clutch needs adjusted or the side cover needs re-positioned. Reverse is not syncronized.
2.If it grinds going into 3rd and 4th, the clutch will need adjusted, or the syncro's are going away.
3.If it pops out of gear the "dog" teeth on the gear are worn. Replace the gear.

My Good luck!
