If your are going from the driverside all the way to the passenger side of the block this could be the issue. Oil may be backing up in the return. My return is -12an and is really short due to the turbo being on the same side as the fuel pump mounting location. I too used this area for my return but it is at a 45 from the turbo to the fuel pump blockoff plate. My return is only about 16 inches long. It has a -12an 45 out of the turbo about 45 degrees down to a -12an 45 into the blockoff plate.

Initial start has not happened yet so I cannot confirm mine is working properly but I bet it will be ok! Mine is a different snail than yours. I chose the B/W S480 to be safe but seen several "Ebay" turbos screaming down the track without failure!!
