what you need to do is fill the tank, find where the gas gauge reads. run the tank down low so you can remove the unit.

Connect the unit to the sending gauge wire and move the arm to the top. did it read full? if so, your in luck- just bend the arm lower so the float doesnt hit the top of the tank when its full.




that wont work because it messes up the empty side and then the arm wont hit the stop tabs. if only i could shorten the float rod, then it would work.

ahave you looked into the tank with it full and actually SEEN the float touching the top of the tank ?

no , it's a SERIOUS question , you are ASSuMEing that it's hitting the top of the tank , unless you have actually LOOKED INSIDE with the tank installed in the car and full of fuel how do you truly know ???

just bend the rod , it's not that hard to do .
