Hi

I am going to freshen the 440 that was rebuild last summer for 69 Charger R/T. With current setup it was capable only for 12,7/108 at 1/4 mile with street tires. My target was to go low 12's.

I have planned to change the current cam to a hydraulic roller. Anyone else having a similar motor with hydraulic roller or what would be your recommendation for this combo?

Intended Use: Street/Strip, few times per season at the drag strip.
Weight of the Car: 4100
Power brakes, should have some vacuum for the booster
Transmission: Automatic
Stall Speed: 3000
Gear Ratio: 3.73
Engine: #matching 440, .055 over
Compression Ratio: 10:1
Intake Manifold: Edelbrock RPM
Cylinder Heads from 440 Source, unported
Rocker Arm Ratio: 1.6
Carb: 850 cfm Demon, mech. secondaries
Hedman Headers 1 3/4"
2½" full length exhaust with X pipe
Current cam: Comp XE284H
Intake Duration@.050: 240
Exhaust Duration@.050: 246
Intake Duration: 284
Exhaust Duration: 296
Intake Valve Lift: 0.541 with 1.6 rockers
Exhaust Valve Lift: 0.544 with 1.6 rockers

I have heard horror stories about 440 Source hydraulic roller lifters and also from Comp Cams hydraulic roller lifters.
What would be a better alternative than the two mentioned roller lifters?

Btw. just when writing this got email from Tim @ Lunati and he recommended their 60313 cam for this combo.

Anyone having earlier experiences from that hydraulic roller cam?
I had thought a little smoother because of the power brakes.
