On my Duster, I ran it like this: hose from sump in stock tank to filter & pump mounted @ rear body crossmember to the right of the spare tire well. Short section of hose to inside of R/R frame rail. 1/2" aluminum line forward along inside of rail, crosses over just forward of the R/R ft spring eye bracket (inboard springs). Forward along outside of frame connector, through the crossmember (grommet) behind R/F tire, then up inside the R/F wheelhouse close to the cowl. Bulkhead fitting there. Braided stainless line is heavy, and abrades whatever it touches, so I use the Earl's hose and aluminum hardline with the AutoFit adapters. I don't think the driveshaft could get to my fuel line in its wildest dreams. Hardline is far enough forward of the spring mount that I can't crush it with the floorjack or stands. I don't run a return line but if I did, either the same side (parallel) or the left side is where I'd run it.
