They tend to start having issues around 125K on the norm, some will last longer, seems like alot more have issues before 100K, I had issues with mine, It just had a basic rebuild done to it before i bought it & was never right (lesson learned), thankfully i wasn't out the 1400.00, But come to find out it was converter related "lock-up" issues with mine, The tranny guy says this is where most of the problems come from especially when no codes are thrown, even causeing delayed shifts or erratic & even higher RPMs on the highway, Most tranny shops install a basic cheapo converter on these trannys & it is an "obsolute" no no, You need to install a top quality converter, a good 450-500.00 bucks, On the low side they cost around 1800.00 for a complete rebuild, on the high 2200.00, so if someone says they will do it for less, look out .

The noids in them are not a big issue, if they fail or act up, they will throw a code & store it, so if no codes are thrown, fluid/filter are good, bands are adj. & kickdown currected, you better look at the converter, The lock-up was an issue in them & can/will cause issues in any gear.
