There's a low buck solution to this issue. Make a 2" or so spacer that goes between the shackle mount on the body and the top shackle bracket. Some 2 x 2 or 2 x 3 steel tubing, a sawzall, a few drill holes and you're in business. Here's something I made years ago. Crude but effective, and cheap. By the way, the picture was taken with the car on jackstands under the body, not the suspension. Resting on its wheels, the shackle pointed at 4 o clock. And today I would not use the Mr Gasket long shackles - I'd use stock ones.
