you might consider pulling it into 3rd after a few seconds of your burnout if your starting in 2nd gear.... 
It's a stick car,,,,I wouldn't recomend shifting in the box.... 
Some guys can start in 3rd gear... if your at the
edge of the water... years ago when I ran a 4 speed
I started in 3rd.... name of the game is clean the
tire and put some heat in them... wheel speed is the
heat
