Install with crank sprocket at 12 and the cam at 6. Makes it easier to line up straight with the shorter distance between. Think about it: then turn the engine over 1 full turn and you will now be at crank at 12 and the cam at 12. Crank shaft makes 2 revolutions to every 1 of the cam shaft
