The converter turns freely when not bolted to the flex plate.

The block does have aftermarket billet caps.




Should have about 3/8" movement fore and aft on the
converter(not bolted up)... if not it cant grow
with the heat and torque which can cause ballooning
in the conv to allow it to move rearward
