To get anything thicker than an .039" I'll have to step up to an MLS or ICS Copper gasket right?

I'd really like to keep it simple with a composition gasket.

Once I get ahold of it I'll know for sure but I suppose I can flycut the piston tops a bit and then have it rebalanced. Who knows if it ever was done before so I'd think it might be money well spent.




the fel-pro's that come in a standard 318/360 rebuild kit are .054" thick compressed. if your pistons are the (IIRC) spec .018" out of the hole, that would leave .036" quench, which is tight, but OK
