I need some help from my smarter than me racing friends. I had a delay box failure a couple races back that caused the car to not shift and subsequently over rev the engine. After I fixed the box problem everything seemed OK with the engine but the car was sluggish and lost a bunch of ET. I have a 5100 rpm launch chip and my converter would normally stall at about 5700 in the air we have here. The first few passes after fixing the box the starting line rpm was around 4500. Every couple passes it increased a little until our last run, when it stalled at just over 5000. The car got closer what it should be running but it’s still slow. Help?

Horsepower affects stall. Leak-down the engine to see if possibly you bent some valves when you over reved the engine.

What PBR said or you had a fluke deal and lost a converter.

Just because you think it won't make it true. Horsepower is KING. To dispute this is stupid. C. Alston

I just went through the same thing. Found a broken rocker. I’d check the springs too.

My cousin did the over rev thing on his car once. It sounded good but ran weak after that. Compression check showed low compression, he'd knicked all the intake valves.
