Horsepower affects stall. Leak-down the engine to see if possibly you bent some valves when you over reved the engine.

What PBR said or you had a fluke deal and lost a converter.

My cousin did the over rev thing on his car once. It sounded good but ran weak after that. Compression check showed low compression, he'd knicked all the intake valves.
