I picked up a used Engle solid lift cam the other day, just thought it was kinda cool. I can find no specs on it online, nothing in their catalog to match up to the numbers on the end. So if someone has an old cam catalog that might have some information on it, I'd love to hear it. There was a tag inside that said specs were listed on the box. On the box it says .560 intake, .584 exhaust. No duration, to centerline, no anything else. It was cheap, I was curious, so I grabbed it.

Sounds like too much cam for a street/strip car.

Sounds like too much cam for a street/strip car. reliability would be my main concern. something to think about is the .020" "advertised" numbers. actual seat timing may be 10-15 degrees more. if this is true, and I think it is, it would ease the pucker factor some on ramp speed. some of those engles have longer closing ramps; the one I run does. you would only know for sure by checking duration at the valve with lash set.
