Does anyone have an old Engle cam catalog? - 03/29/18 09:47 AM
I picked up a used Engle solid lift cam the other day, just thought it was kinda cool. I can find no specs on it online, nothing in their catalog to match up to the numbers on the end. So if someone has an old cam catalog that might have some information on it, I'd love to hear it.
There was a tag inside that said specs were listed on the box. On the box it says .560 intake, .584 exhaust. No duration, to centerline, no anything else.
It was cheap, I was curious, so I grabbed it.

looking at an older engle blue sheet it appears you have a KV-2 intake lobe; 275@.020", 245@.050", 160@.200". the exhaust lobe is probably a KV-4 lobe; 292@.020", 256@.050", 170@.200". LSA will probably have to be measured in a block but i'll bet it's either 108 or 110. the blue sheet says "race only". may have come form hughes.

What #s are stamped on the cam?

look for numbers on the back of the #5 bearing journal. pretty sure i'm right on the lobes but LSA may or may not be stamped.

that's a hugh's/engle camshaft. 12 may be LSA (?). it is a K2/K4.

Sounds like too much cam for a street/strip car.

Only if you think so
I'm getting ready to order a Comp Cams XTQ-286S-8(256@.050 Int, lobe 266@.050 Ex. lobe with a little over .570 net lift with 1.6 ratio rockers
) for my next pump gas stroker 471 C.I. 10.4 to 1 comp. ratio street motor
It's a BB Mopar, it needs to sound NASTY

reliability would be my main concern. something to think about is the .020" "advertised" numbers. actual seat timing may be 10-15 degrees more. if this is true, and I think it is, it would ease the pucker factor some on ramp speed. some of those engles have longer closing ramps; the one I run does. you would only know for sure by checking duration at the valve with lash set.
