Anyone have any short cuts, tips to replace the low beam bulb on the 01 Ram 2500 or 3500 trucks ?? Seems like so much work to remove battery, battery tray, etc, to get to the lower beam bulb . . . tips/comments are welcome . . .

Thanks,

Mark

Youtube is your friend.

If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.

Think it might be easier to just remove the whole headlight assembly . . .

I got my hand down in there but it was real tight. Pulling the whole light seemed like a pain.

small hands for that job... headlight assy removal requires the bumper to be tipped down (really hard on some rust belt trucks). I recently added some small led lights in the lower bumper and wired them in with the fog lamps. Made driving at night a whole new experience. Best $30 I've spent in awhile!

On a 1500 series truck you can remove the entire headlight in less than 10 minutes; 3 or 4 screws. Seems much easier to me than removing the battery and battery tray. Is there a difference in the 2500 headlights? EDIT: A friend with a small hand (as suggested) would be even easier...

Don't think there is difference between 1500 and 2500 . . . just the added battery, etc, on the 2500 cummins . . .
