I found a 1996 Ram 2wd today that I can get the tranny for a good price so my question is can I change the computer controlled RE valve body out for a RH valve body or are the cases different. This will be going into my Dart Sport over the winter.

If I'm reading right any tranny from 88 to 94 should be and RH but might I find a RH in a say 95 that was a left over.

i would say no---- re doesnt have a governer weight --re used elec connection for the OD and the rh activates with fluid pressure---i think the main shaft on the re has a machining difference too...

Correct, the RE lacks the mechanical governor needed with the RH valve body.
