same mount and cross member only the tail shaft changed in length 727 shorter shaft 904 longer shaft I even used a 727 short shaft from a truck with a splined drive shaft in my 68 Dart with the 68 904 mount and cross member

Huh ??? the length from the engine to the trans mount is the same between the 2 , but the tail housing are not interchangeable since the 72 is longer than the 904 and uses a different size yoke .

Well then take that as an FYI , they are NOT interchangleable on Chrysler spec transmissions.
