The guy who painted my RR (base coat/clear coat) did not want to use Organosol for the hood because of paint incompatibility, so he used Hot Rod black. The hood inserts came out well, but he waited too long to paint the stripes after he mixed the components, so the stripes will need to be done again, because they are less flat. Other than that, I think it matches Organosol very well. My

Thanks, I was originally asking about this: https://www.autobodytoolmart.com/p-15321-19006.aspx

And then found this: http://www.performancecoatings.dupont.com/dpc/en/us/html/color/hh/hh_HotRodBlack_color.html

The SEM is pretty cheap but I might stick wit the DuPont. Have Dupont primer on the hood right now.

I've used Dupont Hot Rod Black and like the way it looks. It seems to hold up well also.

It is a nice semi-gloss black. I use it for suspension and under hood bits.

Iam getting my RR hood done next week with the SEM hotrod black. I was under the impression that it was flat to satin in sheen?

Please let us know how it comes out. I am under the impression that it is more of a satin than a flat. I think a flat black pin on hood would have to get pretty scuffed up from taking it on and off.

Did you get the hood done? If so, how did it come out?
