Sounds like as easy question, but.... I've got a 67 Coronet convertible. The only factory opening is one in the dash. It's got an all new interior so no hacking holes in the door panels. Has anyone done this? Under the seats? Under the dash? Subwoofer behind the rear seat? I'm thinking 4 speakers with a amp and subwoofer? Any help would be great!
ther is a guy on this site that manufactures a 2 speaker adaptor plate that fits under the dash in the spot where the original would go. do a search or just look through the 'hot products' section here.

something will have to give. either sacrifice the all stock look inside, or sacrifice sound quality.
for good sound imaging, you want some tweeters that are spread out to create your sound stage. that means something on each door, kick panel, or corner of the dash...because you also want it in front of you, not behind you. rear speakers are just for "fill"
now, if you don't care about the stereo sound then some small tweeters side by side in the big center hole with a custom bracket would give sound quality without the stereo imaging, then a sub in the rear somewhere.
