Anyone have a cool tip for removing carrier bearings from the posi unit? I seem to have only gotten half with my shade tree puller. Was going to resort to splitting the inners with a cut off wheel or mill close with a carbide end mill and give it a shot with a hammer.

For the occasional bearing removal, the cutoff wheel and chisel trick works well. Next up is the 2 jaw puller and mandrels, if ya can get the jaws into the slots. The $350 kit from Randy's is great if ya do a lot, but they pull the whole bearing; once the cage is off, it's back to the cut and chisel.

There isn't any room to get a split puller in there. Just 2 small tab areas with clearance..
as long as you can grab onto a lip a splitter should work , put the splitter plate against to top lip of t he inner race , get pressure against the plate and is it don't pop apply some heat carefully to the inner race with pressure still on it and it will pop right off .
other wise
