Is this a RB Block?

Are you trying to install the motor with the headers attached?

I have the same set up as you but in a 73 dodge dart. frist question did you leave the engine mount to block bolts loose? i mean put the engine mounts on the block but do not tighten the mounting bolts up yet untill after the engine is in and leveled up. Mopar65

They can be tricky those spool mounts, like mentioned, install the bolts but leave them loose, it'll make it easier to monipulate the mounts in the sockets, sometimes they are tight & you need to give them alittle help.

The header should not be hitting the inner fender even if its still 1/2" up on the mount i wouldn't think, Was this the shuamacker kit & useing a 6cyl. k-member? If so, did you follow the instructions & drill the holes on the DS along with cutting the DS corner on the k-member to clear the oil pump.

IIRC, the engine mounts on the K member have different heights. On a V8 K, they are the same height.

Can you post a picture of your K member? if so maybe someone on here can tell from your picture if it is a six or V8 K member The BB adapter mounts are way different from the six to the V8 K members I hear I have not had a 1973 and later A body with a slant six so I don't have hands on experience on them but I have had the 1972 and earlier A bodys with both six and V8 motors, noticeable differences between the two K members Its a lot easeir to figure out a problem when you know what your working with I like and use either a front motor plate or a set of elephant ears to mount BB in A bodys Way easier What oil pan are you using and have you check to see if it is hitting the steering crossover bar

You need to go back to the drawing board & find out what your working with for the K-member, you most likely have the wrong mounts too.
