After stretching one of the wheel wells on the Barracuda quarters, I realized the rear section of the quarter is a rusty mess. They were pretty dented up to start with, because when I was cutting the opening, I hit bondo. Lots of it. It has only been painted once, but they had a plastic party when they painted it LOL.
The rust is another issue. I started hitting different areas with the angle grinder and wire brush. Behind the wheel well I hit lots of bondo and rust. about a softball size hole before I got disgusted and quit. So much for the entire day I spent stretching the front of the wheel well. It was a bear to keep it within the 1" rules.
I am seriously considering replacing both quarters and starting with fresh sheet metal for the stretch. I am running 33x10.5w tires and they will need to be stretched for clearance at the front of the wheel well.
Where is the best place to buy new quarters for a 68 Barracuda?

Yes, I'm pretty sure the skins are all made by the same original manufacturer. And they suffer from the typical old repro replacement skin syndrome.

Yes,
I figured shipping would be an issue. I doubt anyone is close to me here in Houston. May have to bit the bullet.

I got my '68 'cuda quarter skins from Summit. If you order them one at a time, no shipping cost! AMD makes a few parts for the '68, but not many.

Well I tried it today, with only one and it charged me $89 for shipping, then I added a second quarter and it still only showed $89 shipping. I bit the bullet and order them. Tired of messing with rusty hacked up stuff.

Yea it would have been $99 to my door, but we have a shipping department at our company, so terminal pickup is no problem.
Cant wait to get started with fresh sheet metal.

Just a quick update guys,
My quarters arrived here today! They were packed VERY well in a Goodmark box. Summit did me right on this one. They look very good. Not sure how they will fit until I put them on, but so far I am very happy. Less then $500 shipped to my office.
