back at the parts house cut a snip of vac hose the same length as the groove on the pushrod (I forget the size but the one that will fit snug over the rounded end). OE ones are identical ex they have a groove lengthwise along the neoprene which I assume is a manufacturing tooling procedure result which has no effect on its effectiveness so a snip of hose not having that is of no consequence.

Sorry to HiJack your thread but would a bad or wrong size seal cause a leak? considering trying some vac tube on a leaky new MC.

This is just the rubber retainer that holds the pushrod into the MC.
It does no sealing.
I have used a heavy o-ring before but a piece of free hose is cheaper.
If a new MC is leaking make sure where fluid is comming from. If it's around the pushrod you need to get another MC or rebuild it.
Many of the little sold parts are bad on the shelf before they get sold.
