the Road Runner all new Strange calipers and bleed system to death no air.even had calipers off opened bleeder pointing up problem is there's not much pedal.
It has as recommended 1.125 " bore Mopar master on frame rail and it has the correct residuals If we pinch off any line to the wheel then BINGO we now have full pedal A: funked up master cylinder B: stuck residual C: stuck caliper ( checked out all have some movement) D: I haven't got a clue I ELIMINATED MASTER SIZE OR LACK OF VOLUME

Could you explain the entire system - how it's plumbed, dual master?, Assume master is lower than the calipers? using a porportioning valve?

If you have excess pedal travel, you have excess fluid travel. Ether you are compressing air or the shoes/pads are pulling too far away from their stopping surfaces. Sounds like you eliminated the master as the problem. Are you sure the pedal is coming all the way back to uncover the compinsating ports in the master. Pushrod have some amount free play? Master outlets have check valves ( residual pressure valves ) in the outlets? - manditory if the master is mounted below the calipers / wheel cyls.

If all of the above is checked and OK, then it is air in the system. It's real tough to get it all out in a new system.

Could the location of front and rear lines be mixed up?

Being that Fred is probably using his old man cane to press the brake peddle, he may not have proper leverage on the pedal.
If needed I have an appendage of my own that I can substitute for a cane
you would be lucky to get past the seat much less reach the flooru

Fred I have new strange the whole way around... took quite a few tries at bleeding it to get air out to get a pedal in a whole new system! I used DOT4 I think thats what instructions called for... let it set a few days without touching the car and the pedal feel goes away till I pump them up again... Im gonna try bleeding some more.

although many of the replies here have been tried there are some good suggestions also. I am not working on it but we decided to attack the master cylinder first . bleed it again or just swap it while there

I just had some problems with my brakes. I started with plugging the master cylinder and working my way back till I found the right rear caliper was bad. I put seals in it & checked it from front-back and could not find what the problem was with it. The UPS man will be coming tomorrow. I guess all I should have said was start at the master cylinder & work you way back blocking off everything till you find the problem. I used 2 cans off Wilwood Hi-Temp 570 not finding the problem before doing it that way. GOOD LUCK!!!

you could try reverse flushing/bleeding the system. i have had to do this on a few cars both brakes and clutch hydraulics. yes it can be messy at the master cylinder

Mr HEMIFRED, have you found your problem yet? Mine is doing the same thing as yours. We even pressure bleed them,no air in system no pedal. When we get all the air out it feels like it has a pedal, but when you push it down to the floor it goes. New master cylinder, new hard line to the rear, new calipers(all Wilwood). I just replaced the 2 braided steel brake lines to the calipers, will bleed the system again this afternoon. I have been told the braided lines never go bad,but that is the only things I had not replaced yet. I have never run a residual valve on my dragster before,Wilwood says to have brakes I must have one. My understanding of a residual is if you do not have one the fluid can run back to the master cylinder and let the piston retract back into the calipers and you will have to pump the pedal a time or 2 to get the pedal back up. That's not my problem you can pump the pedal all day and they never hold. They are like yours block off any line and they hold.
Hope you have fixed your problem and can tell me the fix.
P.S. I am sure you check this also, with one of the lines unhooked to the caliper when you push the pedal to the floor how much brake fluid come out? Mine looks like about a teaspoon full comes out.
