Is there a difference in how u-joints over the years fit up on the tranny yolk? Is there a difference in the dimension from groove to groove?

904 should have the 7260 U-joint. Not sure they ever made a 7290 yoke.

A 7290 yoke is available for the 904's thru the aftermarket, I don't think the factory ever made one unless it would be for a truck/van application, but I don't think they ever did.
Never saw one if they did. course 904's in trucks or vans were virtually a non existent thing around here

Make sure one of the bearings didn't fall out of place. All it takes is one loose one to make the cap dimension too big ---- been there, done that!
Yep, I've done that too before but no this time.
