Georgia, United States,
I have a 66 Belvedere restomod with a 6.1 hemi I purchase my transmisson from a guy and it has been doing great so far my question is how much power can a 727 take roughly before it fail. When I has the transmission rebuild because I didn't connect the detent cable I was told I have four clucthes instead of three b&m Shifter kit and that's it nothing more so I figure its roughly stock. I should make 465hp on motor putting a 125 shot wet so im thinking 560 maybe with spray. Can it handle it?

It will handle that no problem. Im running a 904 behind 850+ hp sb. The trans has stock components besides valve body, red clutches, and alto steels.

IMO, the 727 design will handle much more torque than you will NA. However, your particular build and parts condition is not known. If you put a power adder on it, I would recommend a better valve body at the minimum.

What are you referring to in your post?

What he said , if that means you did not connect the throttle valve linkage , what people refer to as the kickdown linkage , which is the linkage from the carb to the trans you will smoke the front clutch in short order.

With a 125 shot I would hope it has better than the cheapy rebuild kit clutches and you definitely need a shift kit that increases the line pressure.
