and leaving the car at home in the garage or in the trailer or do you still go just to hang out with friend's and watch the action?

If my car isnt ready to run or I cant afford to run I still go to the track to watch and hang out with friends. Our local track has really nice camping and partying so its still lots of fun. I have realized to that when you are not racing and just watching there is alot less stress and nothing breaks!

I have a hard time just sitting & watching; I always want to work on something or help crew the thing.
Used to be a bunch of us taking a few cars to the track, and it was great even if I wasn't running my car; but 2 of the group passed away and I since moved 1200 miles away.
A few times a year though I crew my ex-A/FX-racer-buddy's '57 Chevy street car when he decides to goof off with it, but there's not much to do on a 13-second car so we mostly stand around & tell jokes. Hell, I worked on his trailer one time just to do something productive.

I don't even want to go racing at all this stinkin rain has me bummed out. Can't even watch baseball we've already missed 6 games !

I found out over the past 2 years, i enjoy leaving the car at home. I traveled the country with some SS/AH guys racing HEMI's! That was the most fun i have ever had!!

I have never been much of a spectator, but I noticed that I have been helping friend's alot here lately,,,,,  I did get mine scheduled into Holt's Racecars in Columbus next Tuesday for a chassis check-up,,so at least the car will be ready even if I'm not.

I almost always go to race, unless it's a special event like a nastalgia event, etc. Not too hot on the big national events anymore. Too much $. Too much of a circus. I want to be able to bring in my own food and drink and sit down and relax between races - cruise the pits.

Aside from the local National Event, I haven't been to the track without a car in probably 5+ years.
